Public computers are available in addition to the library’s collection of books, music and DVDs for adults, children, and
teens. A public meeting room serves as a place for programs as story times as well as a quiet study or tutoring space. Rotating
art exhibitions reflect the talent of the local community. Free WiFi is available throughout the building.

Discuss Greek Lessons by Kang Han.

In a classroom in Seoul, a young woman watches her Greek language teacher at the blackboard. She tries to speak but has lost her voice. Her teacher finds himself drawn to the silent woman, for day by day he is losing his sight. Soon the two discover a deeper pain binds them together. For her, in the space of just a few months, she has lost both her mother and the custody battle for her nine-year-old son. For him, it's the pain of growing up between Korea and Germany, being torn between two cultures and languages, and the fear of losing his independence. Greek Lessons tells the story of two ordinary people brought together at a moment of private anguish-the fading light of a man losing his vision meeting the silence of a woman who has lost her language.

KIDS Center is a medical model Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) providing child abuse evaluations that include a head-to-toe medical exam, child-friendly forensic interview, family advocacy, and mental health services to children and families impacted by abuse. In addition, our services include prevention programs to help teach adults in our community how to better protect children from abuse.
Children are referred for a KIDS Center evaluation by one of four community partners including law enforcement, DHS Child Welfare, medical providers, and licensed mental health professionals. Children and families can engage in KIDS Center advocacy and mental health services without participating in an evaluation. All of KIDS Center services are provided at no cost.

Lets Talk About It® training provides education and insight on the ages and stages of a childs development.
This is an online program. Registration is required. This program will not be recorded.
Created for parents, caregivers, and those who work with or on behalf of children, our 2-hour Lets Talk About It® training provides education and insight on the ages and stages of a childs development, examining each through a social, physical, and developmental lens. The training also provides guidance on how to talk to children about their bodies. You will learn about neurotypical childhood and adolescent development and determine what is considered problematic or inappropriate behavior in children and youth. Participants will go through scenarios to gain hands-on experience on how to handle certain behaviors, situations, or questions that a child may have with the appropriate response while remaining calm. The training is ideal for participants with or who work with children and youth ages 0-17 years old. We recommend taking this class every year.
